Compensation

$70,000–$80,000 per year

About the Role

Sofa Land is seeking an experienced, motivated Store Manager to drive sales performance, lead a customer-focused retail team and deliver an exceptional shopping experience. The successful candidate will bring a proven record in sales leadership and the ability to coach, motivate and hold team members accountable for exceeding sales goals.

Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Sales Performance

  • Recruit, train and mentor a team of commission-based sales associates.
  • Help establish and achieve store sales goals and budgets while managing day-to-day store operations.
  • Build a culture of accountability, collaboration and success.
  • Develop and implement sales strategies to grow revenue and exceed targets.
  • Coach the team on selling, product knowledge and customer relationship-building.
  • Monitor sales data, key performance indicators and team performance to identify improvements and make adjustments.
  • Be available to staff by phone and email during store hours, including when away from the store.

Customer Service

  • Handle day-to-day customer complaints, warranty matters and service issues.
  • Answer customer questions about estimated product arrival dates.

Merchandising & Store Standards

  • Work with the Visual Merchandiser to maintain floor merchandise plans and displays.
  • Ensure products have accurate pricing labels and create new signage as needed.
  • Follow corporate guidelines, standards and directives.

Training & Workplace Safety

  • Ensure new sales and warehouse staff are properly trained in their duties.
  • Direct staff to follow Nordic policies and procedures.
  • Provide a safe work environment and report deficiencies.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or GED required; a bachelor’s degree is preferred.
  • Post-secondary education in Interior Design or Management is an asset.
  • 3+ years of sales management experience.
  • 3+ years of customer service experience.
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience.
