In our community: Spirit of the North

Last September we travelled to Nothern BC to visit our dear friend, Sonica Kandola and her husband Marc. Sonica owns RK Furniture Gallery in Prince George. Part of our visit was to of course see the store and do a PK on Surya with her team. We were very honored to be her guests that evening at the Wine Lovers event in support of Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation which is something that is very dear to Sonica and her family.

Founded in 1991, Spirit of the North has been instrumental in contributing over $40 million towards essential needs in the Northern BC health care region. This funding has helped improve capital equipment, enhance facilities, and support the ongoing education of healthcare professionals and medical staff.

We had the opportunity to contribute to the purchase of a software upgrade for the hospital's MRI machine due in large part to our customers continued support of our business (thank you!). The many donations made that evening showcased the power of community support and collaboration in improving healthcare services. Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation's longstanding dedication to enhancing healthcare in the Northern BC region is commendable, and everyone’s contributions added to the significant impact they've already made over the years.

It was heartwarming to hear about the connections made and the inspiring stories witnessed during our visit. Building relationships and being able to support important causes like healthcare improvement undoubtedly left a lasting impression on us both and we were honored to be invited. Thank you so much for having us, Sonica!

Good afternoon Sonica and Marc,

I just wanted to share with you and your guests an exciting piece of information about Wine Lovers 2023. As you might remember, we were trying to raise funds for a software upgrade, The Turbo Suite Accelerate Package, for our MRI machine here in Prince George. We were able to fund the upgrade in full in one single night thanks to the support of yourself and your guests - Jamie and Tanya Kennedy, Norm Coyne and John Luigi.

It was Pediatric MRI day in the hospital yesterday and we were able to go for a quick tour. We got to see the impact that your generous support is having on our littlest patients right here at home!! The MRI team was able to show us the differences from the old software compared to the new software, and the difference was night and day! We were absolutely amazed and the MRI team was so appreciative of the clear image quality and the speed they are now able to complete the scans.

The MRI and Spirit Team would like to say a huge thank you!
